Previous Minutes

The minutes of the previous meeting were approved

Finance Update
  • The bank account changes with have been completed. The remaining steps are to close the original account and transfer the funds; these are expected to happen soon.

  • We agreed that we should encourage more SumUp payments going forward, if only because it is easier to manage.

  • The committee thanked Martin for all his work over the year and for the interim financial report before going on holiday

  • The Shed has a healthy in-year balance.

New Dust Processor

Lance’s update reported that installation was about 80% complete: the processor was in situ and most of the pipework had been installed. Adaptors and a pipe were still awaited to connect the small bandsaw and chop-saw. The unit is significantly quieter and more powerful than the current extractor. Once installation is complete, suction can be directed to any one of five outlets using blast gates. There are two remote controls, one for the CNC room and one for the workshop area. The machine is very easy to empty. Lance will demonstrate it to all Shed members over the next week or so.

  • Festive Get-Together, Thursday, 17 December 2026 11.30am

  • All Shed members, partners and friends welcome for a cuppa, sandwiches and a mince pie in The Shed.

  • The Shed will close 18 December 4 January but may be opened if requested or needed by contacting a Key Holder.

  • Action — Stuart: contact Dalewood. Action — Bob: email members.

Parking

It was agreed that both the committee and the AGM would give careful consideration to the management of parking before next year’s car parks open. The aim is to reduce reliance on the current small group and encourage more members to take an active role. Parking is our main source of income; without it, we could not continue without asking members to pay much higher subscriptions, which the committee agreed it wanted to avoid. Parking duties currently fall to a relatively small number of members.
